UNIMAID – University of Maiduguri
Background

The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) is a federal higher institution located in Maiduguri, the capital city of Borno State, in northeast Nigeria. Due to its unique location, which borders Niger, Chad and Camaroon, the university attracts students from within and outside Nigeria.
Established in 1975, UNIMAID comprises 16 faculties and 127 programmes, enrolling 26’000 students. Its faculties include Agriculture, Arts, Dentistry, Education, Engineering, Law, Management Sciences, Pharmacy, Science, Social Sciences, and Veterinary Medicine.
Relevant experiences
Public health and water engineering expertise. UNIMAID’s College of Medicine and Faculty of Engineering partner with humanitarian organisations, providing technical support and impact evaluation studies.
