Gravit’eau for improved resilience

Hands4health was present in yet another webinar: “How to improve resilience and address water scarcity through innovative solutions”. The event was held on February 20, 2024 from 13:00-14:30 CET and was hosted by the Climate Action Accelerator.

The webinar focused on two innovative solutions in the field of water access that do not require energy consumption and that address the challenges posed by the global scarcity of water resources.

  • Maria Giovanna Di Bitonto, a doctoral student at Milan Polytechnic, talked about her research on fog collectors, which extract water from humid air masses
  • Hands4health partners Sébastien Mercier, Terre des hommes Foundation, PhD in the Laboratory of Molecular Physical Chemistry at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), and Carola Bänziger, environmental scientist and Researcher at FHNW, the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland, presented the Gravit’eau system for washing hands with recycled water

The presentations were followed by a question-and-answer session during which webinar participants were able to explore the proposed solutions in greater detail with the speakers.
